Board arrangements
From 1 December 2011 some new board arrangements came into effect for the three North of Tyne primary care organisations.
In line with national requirements during the transition to the new organisational structures, NHS North of Tyne now has a single board chair and a single audit chair across Newcastle Primary Care Trust (PCT), North Tyneside PCT and Northumberland Care Trust.
The new single board met in public on 13 December 2011 to agree the necessary governance arrangements that arise from the revised non-executive membership. View papers from the December 13, 2011 board.
The changes are in line with those made recently for the new NHS North of England Strategic Health Authority single board. Similar board arrangements are being made in PCT clusters across the country. The new boards will help coordinate work across the region during this time of significant change, ensure ongoing engagement with key stakeholders and avoid duplication of work as the new system for clinical commissioning is developed.

Board arrangements prior to April 2010
Prior to April 2010, NHS North of Tyne had a commissioning board which met to discuss commissioning decisions. Agendas and minutes from commissioning board meetings are available.
