Strategic and locality plans
Locality Commissioning Plans which set out the Clinical Commissioning Groups’ (CCGs) visions for the future have been agreed. CCGs are working closely with NHS North of Tyne, to start taking on new responsibilities. As the NHS Bill had gained royal assent it means in the future GP clinical commissioning groups will be responsible for making sure that local health services are available to meet the needs of local people.

Previous plans are outlined below.

The ISOP and LDPs are jointly owned by the PCTs as the statutory bodies, and the respective emerging GP consortia in that locality as the future commissioners.
The ISOP is a narrative on a set of ambitions backed up by performance and financial returns. It sets out both short term (1 year) and longer term (3 to 4 years) goals.
The ISOP replaces both the NHS North of Tyne strategic plan and annual operational plan, which are available as archives on this website.
The LDPs articulate in detail the key projects and actions to be led by the emerging GP consortia in 2011/12.
